As Arctorious had suggested a circle is made around the spell casters. Many of those keeping watch have their eyes on the canopy below, watching for signs of movement between waves of churning mist. The valley has come alive with birds as the sun has neared the ridge's crest. Amber tipped feathers flare on the vast wingspan of a Habrini Hawk. It twists high above the valley, glowing in the early daylight as it tilts and twists on a column of rising air. Kiara recognizes the good omen of sighting the hawk. The day's journey will not be without reward.
The last of the extra packs are removed from Fabian's barge. These are placed at the center of the tower top, within the circle. The packs from the other barges are also deposited and organized. Bjorn does a quick tally of the gear as Yenner goes over the food stocks.
Carlo leans against one of the menacing barbed vines, thick as a man's thigh, and plucks thoughtfully at his mandolin. Only once does he raise a heavy lidded eye as Evan and Bjorn separate their groups and give individual instructions. Bjorn asks Rifain if she would rather stay behind with Fabians group and help guard the casters or stick with his team as they do the initial sweep.
Evan informs his team that they will be following Bjorn's group down slowly, allowing them to search for hazards carefully. He adds that any combat will be immediately joined by them, and ended as quickly as possible. Bjorn explains to his group that they will be leading the slow descent to the forest floor and the search for Lucio and the delver scouts. Everyone is asked to keep an eye out for salvageable goods and valuables. Bjorn asks Urindel, again, to lead down the stairs.
Fabian explains to his group that they will be staying on the roof for the time being. Waiting until they are needed below or the floors are cleared. He adds that guarding the gear is part of their duty as well as identifying objects and artifacts brought up from below. Fabian offers to trade Preesha for Rifain if Rifain would prefer to stay behind.
Mrin notices the weathered wooden shake shingles of the watchtower were once very colorfully painted. It must have been quite a sight when it was well kept.
Lyeas spots a broken piece of lime green chitin, about as big as a dinner plate. Sitting atop some rubble.
Arctorious spots a broken spy glass lying among the rubble. It's brass case and shattered lenses are likely of no value.
Urindel finds a sinew wrapped bone feather and fur fetish hanging from a looping arc of one of the thick barbed vines.
last wall notices that these vines crawling over the top of the tower seem to be be slowly moving. Noticeably moving.
Lucian finds a bloody message, scrawled in abbysal, on the staircase wall.
Lucian sees nothing particular with his detect magic...
Lady habbrig arranges her belt pouch, revealing a variety of potions.
